Announced in June 2008 and created exclusively for US Telecom carrier members, the Empowered by Telecommunications Award seeks to identify outstanding achievements obtained by telecommunications operators and service providers. The three award categories will highlight achievements in: business-value, technical-achievement and overall-market success.
NEC will recognize outstanding network deployments and chief successes from industry peers, by honoring three winners with an 'Empowered By Telecommunications' Award at the USTelecom Membership Reception at SUPERCOMM 2009, a yearly event highlighting the ecosystem of network-enabled voice, video, and data applications and services that support broadband communications.
Submissions will be accepted starting November 10; with a deadline for entries set for April 10, 2009.
Empowered Honorees will be announced in Chicago at the USTelecom Membership Reception at SUPERCOMM 2009. If a company does not wish to have their product, service, application or network design announced, NEC must be notified via e-mail by May 18, 2009. The decision to refrain from making a public announcement will in no way impact the judging process. The Empowered by Telecommunications Awards Team will ensure all requests for information to be kept under NDA is maintained. If a company cannot be present at the award ceremony, NEC must be notified via e-mail by May 18, 2009. Not being present at the USTelecom Membership Reception will in no way impact the judging process.
