Express5800/ FT320 Server Product Line
320Fd-MR & 320Fd-LR: Virtualization in an FT World
NEC recently released the new NEC Express5800/320Fd-MR mid-range and 320Fd-LR entry-level fault tolerant (FT) servers. These latest models feature improved processing power and are designed to simplify server consolidation by supporting virtualized operating systems for the first time.
The 320Fd-MR and 320Fd-LR feature Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processors, achieving a 20% performance gain over the existing 320Fc-MR model, utilizing the new Intel 5400 Series Xeon processors. Other enhancements have been made in order to support additional operating systems capabilities, such as the Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition, allowing higher levels of main memory to be fully utilized.
320Fc-MR : Quad-Core CPU
NEC's fourth-generation Express5800/320Fc Fault Tolerant (FT) series of servers is the first in the industry to deliver lockstep support for the low voltage Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5300 series. This offers more than a 200% performance gain over current Dual-Core models. The Express5800/320Fc series of servers provide the highest availability for mission critical applications, and effectively support the emergence of server consolidation and virtualization workloads.
